Our Story

From Surface Finishing Pioneers to Industrial Powder Coating Leaders

Bisco India traces its roots back to 1967, when the late Mr. M.M. Hanif established a surface finishing operation in Mumbai. Starting with Anodizing and Electroplating for electronic components, the business transitioned to Powder Coating in 1982 — making us one of the earliest powder coating operations in western India.

By 1992, we formally established Bisco India as a dedicated industrial powder coating operation in Vasai, Mumbai, focused on job work for the rapidly growing manufacturing sector. What started as a workshop serving local fabrication needs evolved into a full-scale industrial coating operation.

In 1994, we expanded south to Chennai, starting from a modest 950 sqft facility. Growing demand and OEM approvals from Ashok Leyland, Volvo, TAFE, and Royal Enfield drove a relocation to a 25,000 sqft facility by 2005. A state-of-the-art E-coat (CED) plant was launched in 2010, and by 2015 we built a 100,000 sqft state-of-the-art facility in Tiruvallur district.

Today, Bisco India operates two full-scale facilities in Chennai (Sriperumbudur) and Mumbai (Vasai East), serving 100+ industrial clients with ISO 9001:2015 certified quality systems and 6+ coating technologies.

About Bisco India — FAQs

Company background and capability questions for procurement teams, vendors, and sourcing managers evaluating coating partners.

How long has Bisco India been in the powder coating business?

Bisco India has been providing industrial powder coating services since 1992 — over three decades of experience in processing metal components for automotive, electrical, fabrication, and infrastructure sectors. This extended track record reflects sustained investment in equipment, quality systems, and workforce capability.

Is Bisco India ISO certified?

Yes. Bisco India holds ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management system. This covers incoming inspection, pre-treatment, powder application, curing, final checks, and dispatch processes at both the Chennai and Mumbai facilities.

What makes Bisco India different from other powder coating providers?

Three factors distinguish Bisco India: first, dual-facility coverage in Chennai and Mumbai provides logistical flexibility; second, a structured quality system with documented process control supports repeat lot consistency; and third, specialty coatings like Alodine, Plascoat PPA 571, and dielectric coating expand capability beyond standard powder coating.

Which industries does Bisco India serve?

The company serves automotive, electrical, fabrication, machinery, infrastructure, and consumer durable segments. Process routes and inspection controls are tuned for sector-specific requirements such as corrosion resistance, dielectric performance, finish quality, and production repeatability.

Can Bisco India handle large production volumes?

Yes. The Mumbai unit operates a conveyorized line optimized for high-throughput production, and the Chennai unit supports batch and project-based work. Combined capacity planning across both facilities allows scalable support for growing production programs.
